I am a Vietnamese American who has no accent when I speak English. I am also a commuter. During my junior year, someone asked me how do I like America and specifically Boston. Later, I realized that they thought that I was an international student… I’ve been here for years. My looks have subjected me to the stereotype of the perpetual foreigner. I seldom felt welcomed at Wheelock.
