An experience I had at Wheelock was with Eric Sullivan. It was a discussion we had last semester during an anthropology course I was taking. He allowed the class to take lead in the discussion and only chimed in when he felt the conversation was becoming off subject. You could tell he wanted to hear everyone’s points of view when he validated different points made during the discussion. The only issues I had with the conversation was when a few students began to talk down to me like I had absolutely no idea how to see things from someone else’s perspective. When I was being yelled at for White privilege, I quickly shut down because I was fed up with the lack of respect they had for me.
