Flow was created in order to showcase poetry and open mics on the Wheelock campus. One of the main goals was to have a mic every month.
Why is this club important?
It’s important because we watch poets grow and perform and have the performance be a part of their identity. FLOW is also important because we function as a little family and a safe space and welcome the "dopeness" everyone has.
Why is it important to be a part of the Wheelock community?
Because we do offer that safe space to students. People feel comfortable to break social constructs and make people think about their views. It does something for the performers and the audience to hear the performers and the audience to hear someone else’s words convey what you’re feeling; it brings something else to the table. We are also trying to diversify the performers and performances that feel comfortable with showcasing with us.
