I feel like I kind of blend in on campus. To me, it seems that there are two or three types of groups at Wheelock: the partiers, the activists, and those in-between who are just at school to do school. There isn't a lot of opportunity for those of us who identify as “floaters” to interact with each...

Some groups of student leaders on campus are more talked about and others are pushed aside. The team leaders are treated as a separate entity. Yes they are part of a program outside of Wheelock, but they are still student leaders on campus.

We live in a racialized society and change is needed but this school is producing faux-freedom fighters motivated by personal ego inflation rather than the desire to make a change.

I feel like my voice cannot be heard at this school. I see this problem occur very often here at Wheelock, especially in the schools punishment and search policies. I have no sense of privacy here. Tell me how I have had public safety or maintenance barge into my room without consent at least...

While it is true that with recent events such as Ferguson, racial injustice has been at the forefront of the national headlines. However, one aspect of identity that is typically not a part of...

I walk through the halls and yet I look like any “white” female on campus, yet I am not. I am half white and half Hispanic and there is no place for me. Some people assume I am 100% white even though I carry a Hispanic name. The moment I walk into a classroom and am called for attendance, the...

Coming to Wheelock you already know that the school holds predominately whites and women. Knowing this, I don't get why the lack of diversity comes as a shock. I still reflect back to last years incident of Eric Maitland sending out emails offering pay to white students who encouraged colored...
